In this episode of Oh Snap! I take a treacherous journey across the Atlantic Ocean to the wonderful country of France! I had the amazing opportunity to travel with some of the sophomore history teachers as well as a big group of students from my grade. Throughout my spring break, I learned all the rules of world travel and had an amazing time doing it. Also that is literally the Eiffel Tower right there!! I was honestly mind blown ahhhhh. Ok anyway back to the photos lol ;)

When we first landed in France, we immediately started off our trip with a bang when we visited the Notre Dam. Sadly, the week after we got to see the quintessential cathedral, it tragically burned down. I am so thankful we got to see such an important symbol of France before its tragic collapse. It was a super spiritual experience to see this cathedral and it has been on my bucket list for awhile.

Throughout the trip, I tried taking more portrait shots. Here is one of my favorites of the beautiful Christina ;)

A man equipped with nothing but bread crumbs somehow got these photogenic pigeons to pose for me. It made for an amazing photo!

The next day, we visited the famous art museum, the Louvre. It was super cool to see this amazing land mark in person, and I definitely wigged out when I saw it for the first time. I absolutely loved seeing all of the beautiful works of art lining the walls of this amazing museum.

The next day, we went to the incredible Palace of Versailles. The gardens and architecture where absolutely mind blowing to see. I almost couldn't believe my eyes. It's crazy to think that we got to see the places where such extraordinary historical events happened such as the March on Versailles which was the beginning of the French Revolution or the signing of the Treaty of Paris which took place in the beautiful hall of mirrors. Also look at that symmetry in the picture below; it made photo look absolutely spectacular!

Later that day while headed to our hotel in Normandy, we took a quick stop in Honfleur, a small port town in the North of France. The gloomy atmosphere and unique architecture gave me some serious Series of Unfortunate Events vibes.

The next day was mostly dedicated to World War II. Not pictured below is the incredible museum we visited that informed us of all the horrors of the war in France. It was a very somber experience to see the effects this war had on so many people, and I am glad I had the opportunity to learn about it in depth along with the rest of my classmates. Pictured below is the D-Day Memorial located on Omaha Beach.

We then visited a cemetery and memorial for all the American Soldiers who died defending France.

Overall, I am super elated and thankful that I had the opportunity to go on such a life changing trip in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. At first I was a little nervous because I had never traveled like this before. Luckily I made some really amazing friends over the course of the week who supplied a lot of happiness and memories that I will never forget!
